Why We Invested in Architect
Bringing Jane Street & Citadel Securities-level trading tech to the masses
The recent SEC approval of Bitcoin ETFs has further legitimised Bitcoin as an asset class for TradFi institutions. Net inflows for Bitcoin ETFs in Q1 this year totalled +$12B as Bitcoin broke all-time highs.
As institutional interest continues to surge, there is critical market demand for high-throughput, low-latency, trading and distribution infrastructure operated by regulated intermediaries.
Architect is here to fill the institutional infrastructure gap
Architect provides institutions and professional investors with comprehensive trading and portfolio management software for traditional and digital asset markets across jurisdictions.
Architect’s flagship platform offers best-in-class algorithmic execution, advanced market visualisation (such as consolidated CEX/AMM orderbooks), on/off-prem offering, discretionary trading, and risk management tools, supported by proprietary low-latency data normalisation and exchange connectivity infrastructure.
Architect is also an NFA-registered Independent Introducing Broker for CFTC-regulated derivatives. The team recently launched Architect Edge, a cross-asset market data and event monitoring platform, and Architect Match, a portfolio management and trade reconciliation platform for financial institutions.
Brett - Bringing blue-chip TradFi experience to the masses
Brett Harrison was the President of FTX US, where he resigned several months before the collapse. Prior to FTX US, he was building out low-latency trading tech at Citadel Securities where he was in charge of technology for the largest options market-making operation in the US, processing 25% of all US Options trading volumes and facilitated 20% of all US ETF trading volume.
Before Citadel Securities, he built low latency trading systems at Jane Street which facilitated $4B notional volumes per day back in 2017 and improved the firm’s low latency gateways by 1000x. Brett holds a Bachelors and Masters in Computer Science from Harvard.
Brett wanted to bring low latency trading software to the world. Instead of building it in-house for trading firms that were raking in billions, his goal is to democratise this technology and provide it to the masses. Needless to say, there are not many individuals with his unique skill set, and we’re excited to work with him to bring Architect to new heights.
